(Renfrew, Ontario) – Downtown Renfrew is now home to a vibrant new symbol of inclusion with the unveiling of a new rainbow crosswalk, made possible through a generous financial contribution and community partnership with Renfrew PRIDE. Located at Railway Avenue in the downtown core, the pride crosswalk serves as a visible testament to Renfrew's commitment prioritizing diversity, equality, and inclusion. 

"The rainbow crosswalk represents more than just paint on pavement, it symbolizes our community and Council’s dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone," says Mayor Tom Sidney. "We are incredibly grateful for the support and financial contribution from our partners at Renfrew PRIDE, who have brought this project to fruition. And while we recognize that we still have work to do as a community, this is another great step in that direction."

 Spearheaded by Renfrew PRIDE, this project has been in the works for several years as the Town joins a growing number of communities across Ontario and beyond who have embraced similar initiatives to celebrate 2SLGBTQI+ pride.
