The Town of Renfrew is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Latendresse, current Director of Community & Recreation Services / Library CEO, as Acting Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective Monday, September 30, 2024.
Director Latendresse brings a wealth of experience and exemplary leadership to her role, with more than two decades of dedicated service in municipal government and library administration. She began her career in Deep River before moving to the Town of Petawawa for 18 years. In 2015, she joined the Town of Renfrew as Chief Executive Officer of the Renfrew Public Library, where her responsibilities quickly expanded to include oversight of community services, with a particular focus on cultural and heritage initiatives. Director Latendresse later served as Acting Director of Parks and Recreation, where she successfully managed community partnerships and programming. She was subsequently promoted to Director of Community & Recreation Services / Library CEO, assuming additional responsibilities for all recreational operations and the McDougall Mill Museum.
Director Latendresse holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Services and an Advanced Public Library Leadership Diploma, with specialized training in Municipal Cultural Planning and Change Management.
“I am pleased to take on this interim role and to serve the Town of Renfrew in this capacity while we look for a new CAO,” says Director Latendresse. “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside dedicated teams and community partners to enhance our services. I look forward to collaborating with Council, staff, and residents to further support Renfrew’s growth and progress during this time of change for the organization.”
Born in Burnstown and now a Renfrew resident herself, Director Latendresse is deeply connected to the local area. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys kayaking, ATVing, gardening, reading, and is the proud mother to her 23-year-old daughter who resides in Ottawa.
To ensure a smooth transition, Director Latendresse will work closely with Rob Tremblay, the current CAO, during a cross-over period prior to his official departure on October 4, 2024. This collaboration will provide continuity in leadership and ensure that key initiatives and projects remain on track as the Town of Renfrew moves forward.
“Council recognizes Kelly’s leadership, community connections, and team building,” says Mayor Tom Sidney. “We thank her for stepping up once again as we seek our next CAO.”
