The Town of Renfrew is announcing that Robert Tremblay, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will be stepping down from his position. His last day of service to the Town of Renfrew will be November 1, 2024.
"It has been an honour to serve as the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer at a time of change and renewal,” says Tremblay. “I am extremely proud of the staff team, their resiliency, and hard work despite the challenges facing the Town."
Mr. Tremblay, who has served as CAO since 2022, expressed particular pride in the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan (Road to 2035), a community-driven initiative shaped by feedback from residents, staff, stakeholders, and Council leadership. The plan, along with several master plans and operational reviews, provides a strong framework for the Town's future growth and development.
Since his tenure, the Town has also made significant strides in addressing systemic issues through continuous improvement initiatives, the adoption of new policies, and best practices for staff and Council.
In his resignation letter to Council, Mr. Tremblay reinforced his belief in the importance of the Town's values of collaboration and teamwork, fairness and inclusion, and integrity and respect. He emphasized, "While the work will continue to be challenging, how we treat each other should not. I wish the Town of Renfrew a strong future!"
Mayor Sidney expressed gratitude for Mr. Tremblay's service, stating: “Rob has been an integral part of Renfrew's growth since joining more than two years ago. His leadership and dedication have set a strong foundation for the future, and while we are extremely sad to see him go, we respect his decision and wish him the very best.”
The Town of Renfrew’s Council will begin the process of recruiting a new CAO and is committed to a smooth transition as Mr. Tremblay concludes his tenure.
