Renfrew Landfill

Only waste generated in the Town of Renfrew will be accepted at this site with the exception of Household Hazardous Waste.  Users of the landfill will be required to provide proof of residence.  Waste disposed of at the landfill must be sorted. 

Third parties hauling waste from a property in the Town of Renfrew to the landfill must complete a Declaration of Haulage form.

Please review the Landfill Fees and Charges document for more information regarding material and waste sorting classifications. 

The site does not accept liquid waste, hazardous waste or asbestos. Excess soil from construction or large excavation projects must be pre-approved with applicable TCLP sample results provided.

Landfill Hours of Operation

Effective January 7, 2025 new hours in effect:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

The Renfrew Landfill is closed on all Statutory Holidays. For 2025 these include:

  • Friday April 12, 2025 (Good Friday)
  • Tuesday July 1, 2025 (Canada Day)
  • Tuesday September 30, 2025 (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation)
  • Tuesday November 11, 2025 (Remembrance Day) 
  • Wednesday December 24, 2025 open 8:30-12:00, closed in the afternoon (Christmas Eve)
  • Thursday December 25, 2025 (Christmas Day)
  • Friday December 26, 2025 (Boxing Day)
  • Wednesday December 31, 2025 open 8:30-12:00, closed in the afternoon  (New Year's Eve)
  • Thursday January 1, 2026 (New Year's day)

Additionally the Landfill may be closed on occasion for other purposes as required by the Town including for staff training. Updates about these closures will be posted online and on social media as they come up.
