Make Sure You Come to Ma-te-Way Activity Park on August 3!

Ma-te-Way Activity Park Splash Pad and Courts Grand Opening on August 3rd, 2022!

The newly constructed splash pad, and tennis and pickleball courts at Ma-te-way Activity Park in Renfrew are officially open!
The public is invited to join the Town of Renfrew to celebrate the construction of these first-class facilities.

Councillor Tom Sidney, Chair of the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Committee is thrilled with the success of the project.
“There has been a lot of work put into this by the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Department staff, and all the contractors we have worked with to make this happen. I want to thank everyone involved - I know the community will enjoy these facilities for years to come.”

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 am for the splash pad, and 12:00 pm for the courts.
At 11:30 am until 1:00 pm, members of the Renfrew Tennis Club and local pickleball players will be on hand for a free “learn to play” clinic. Whether community members have never picked up a racket or simply want a few pointers to improve their game, this is a great opportunity to learn on the fantastic new courts.
For those who have never played pickleball, this is the perfect time to experience the sport that is sweeping the nation. Pickleball is rapidly gaining popularity across Canada, and Renfrew is thrilled to offer the growing number of Renfrew-area pickleballers a location to play.

Local pickleball players are excited to show the community the ins and outs of the game and recruit new players.

Don’t forget your bathing suit and towel to take advantage of all the water fun at the splash pad!

A free barbeque will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm – come hungry!
