Ottawa Valley Culture

The purpose of OttawaValleyCulture.ca is to help build the capacity of local cultural professionals - and by extension local governments - to nurture and support cultural development in Pembroke and throughout the entire Ottawa Valley.

The County of Renfrew and the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association, together, support the work of artists and arts and cultural organizations and recognize the important contributions they make to our local economy. They not only contribute to its well-being and sustainability, they also help to attract new visitors and investors to our area.

Cemeteries In Renfrew County

Canada GenWeb's Cemetery Project currently offers a free and searchable listing of over 18,000 known Canadian cemeteries.

This volunteer built database offers a variety of information geared towards genealogists:

  • Names, locations & histories of cemeteries
  • Links to repositories & genealogy organizations that offer further information and/or assistance
  • Lookup offers, transcripts, indexes, and photos compiled by volunteers.

This project is classified as "in progress" -- we do not yet have information on every Canadian cemetery but with your help this can be accomplished.

Heritage Renfrew Archives

The Archives Building ( a branch of the Main Ottawa Archives ) houses the Office of Heritage Renfrew. The Archives building however is only a storage building and does not provide any resources to the general public. However, Heritage Renfrew, not connected with the Public Archives Storage Building does have Historical Data, and can assist with Family genealogy and historical data for the surrounding areas.
